My printer is flashing the B87C68C2 error code and it won't turn off when I press the power button. I was trying to figure out what it wasn't printing before via wireless - was checking wireless signal (good), and my computer was saying the job was printing, but the printer was not showing any active jobs. It suddenly started flashing this msg while I was scrolling through settings. I did end subscription to ink recently; wondering if it reset some sort of connection?

Hi @PHCh,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error code B87C68C2 on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015e indicates a hardware issue, particularly with the printer's internal memory. However, before concluding it's a hardware problem, let's try some troubleshooting steps.
- Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary glitches. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer, wait for about 60 seconds, and then plug it back in. Turn the printer back on and see if the error persists.
- Reset the Printer: If restarting doesn't work, you can try resetting the printer to its factory settings. Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds. This should initiate the printer's factory reset process.
- Update Firmware: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can usually do this through the printer's control panel or via the HP Smart app.
- Check Wireless Connection: Since you mentioned checking wireless signals, ensure that your printer is properly connected to your Wi-Fi network. You may need to reconfigure the wireless settings if the connection was interrupted.
- Check for Paper Jams: Even if there's no indication of a paper jam, it's worth checking the printer's paper path for any obstructions.
Regarding your suspicion about the ink subscription cancellation causing the issue, it's unlikely that unsubscribing from ink would directly cause this problem. However, sometimes changes to printer settings or configurations can trigger unexpected issues, so it's not entirely impossible. But focus on troubleshooting the hardware issue first.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
