Badly smeared ink on copy of photo on 4x6 HP glossy photo paper.

Hi; I just printed a photo from my computer  onto HP 4x6 glossy photo paper and after it printed i noticed a weird mark on the side of the photo and i touched the photo and the ink just smeared. It is a black and white photo and as i now look at the photo after several minutes the faces in the photo are just black. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an HP ENVY 5660 e-All-in-One Printer and when you print photos, a mark appears on the side on the photo and ink smears. Also, the faces on the the black and white photo appear black. I'll do my best to help you.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

• Does the printer print fine on normal paper?
• Have you checked the print settings from the application you're trying to print from?
• Have you tried using another application and checked if it improved the print quality?

Meanwhile, If the issue persists then I suggest you to perform the steps as described in detail from this link. (Follow steps from Solution one to Solution Eight).

Hi; I feel really stupid right about now. After awhile i found that i had loaded the print paper logo side down and was printing on the back side of the paper. Thank-you.
