I changed the cartridges a couple of months ago and ever since then it says 'now printing alignment oage..'
I was able to print earlier and once i finish printing I would get back the same message on the printer display.
But now Im unable to print altogether. It comes out garbled, misaligned, colours mixed up.
I tried using HP Print and Scan Doctor to rectify this but in vain. When i try to fix the alignment thro this, it says printer busy as the status on the printer display always says that it is printing alignment page,
please help me format or reset it.

@Wells3, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Insert one ink cartridge at a time and try printing to identify the defective ink cartridge.
Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Re-insert the ink cartridges. if you are able to bypass the error, clean the ink cartridges.
Clean the ink cartridges
-
Load letter or A4, unused, plain white paper into the paper tray.
-
On the printer control panel, press the Down Arrow
to select Tools, and then press OK.
-
Press the Down Arrow
to select Clean Printhead, and then press OK. The printer cleans the printhead, and then prints a printhead test page.
Now, try printing. If the issue persists, perform the steps mentioned in the document - Alignment Errors
