Hello HP Community, I have Officejet 7000 Wide Format printer for 11x17 printing. When I send a PDF to print, the image/drawing barely if at all shows up...however, when I send a CAD drawing from my Autodesk software to the printer, it prints fine -- even the detailed lines in black.  I cleaned the print head as recommended by HP, but this still has not resolved the issue...and with a dirty print head, I assume nothing would print. I am using genuine HP cartridges and have unplugged and powered up the printer.  Please advise, thanks!

Welcome to the HP Support Community

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Could you help me with the operating system of your computer?

Is the copy working fine?

If you are facing the same issue while making a copy follow the below step.

I suggest you do a Hard Reset on the printer

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Then click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-7000-wide-format-printer-series-e809/3882903/docum... and follow the solution for ink cartridge issues.

Hello Raj, thank you for your reply -- I am running Windows 7 on an HP EliteBook. My printer has no copy or scan function that I know of -- it's just a printer.  I tried a hard reset on the printer earlier today (but disconnected it for 15 seconds as recommended by the HP automated help, instead of the 60 you mentioned.)  So I tried the 60-second hard reset and sent another document to print with no success.  What little color I had in the document DID print, but the black is printing so faint that it is barely viewable.  Any other solutions you might share?

Thanks Raj...I do not see any option for sign-in as guest once I provide my serial number -- my printer is recognized by HP, but thre is no option for sign in as guest or any option to select how HP could contact me.  The printer is 7.5 years old, but works fine...any other way to reach HP directly?
