HP Photosmart Plus All-in-One Printer series - B209
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Need help to fix this condition:  Blue Screen with B85857BE error code on HP Photosmart Plus Printer (B209a). I have an HP Photosmart Plus All-in-One Printer - B209a and it display an error code every time a trie to turn it on.

I did all the steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix as recommended:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
  • Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
  • Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
  • The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector.
  • Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.

But hte issue persists.  Also I removed the ink cartridge one by one but the error still there.

Would you can help me with this issue?

Hi @Alejo2713,

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues with your printer not working because of error codes on a blue screen. I will be delighted to assist you here.

Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

To assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this.

  • Did this happen after a power outage or surge?

Let me keep you informed that it looks like the printer has a hardware issue and needs to be replaced.

For now, try these steps:

  • Please perform all the prescribed steps from this link: http://hp.care/2CxSTa0 to fix such errors. (HP Printers - 'Ink System Failure' or '0x ...' Error Code Displays)
  • Now check if it gets fixed. If the problem continues then the printer needs to be replaced by contacting HP phone support. I am being honest about it by keeping your best interest in mind without beating around the bush.

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://hp.care/2r9wSvP

  • Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.
  • Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.
  • Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.
  • Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
