Hi @patrickJohn1941,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When the blue light on your HP ENVY Inspire 7220e All-In-One Printer screen is flashing, it typically indicates that there is some sort of issue or status message that needs your attention. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
- Check the Display Message: Approach the printer and look at the screen to see if there is any specific message or error code displayed. The flashing blue light often accompanies a message that provides information about the problem.
- Check for Paper Jams: One of the most common reasons for error lights on a printer is a paper jam. Open the printer's access doors and check for any paper stuck inside. If you find any, gently remove it following the printer's instructions.
- Check for Ink or Toner Issues: If your printer uses ink or toner cartridges, ensure that they are properly installed and have enough ink or toner. Low ink or toner levels can trigger error messages and flashing lights.
- Restart the Printer: Sometimes, simply turning the printer off and then back on can resolve minor issues. Press the power button to turn it off, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it on again.
- Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers: If you're using the printer with a computer, ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed. Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause communication problems.
- Check Connectivity: If your printer is connected to a network, make sure it's properly connected and has an active network connection. Check Wi-Fi settings, cables, or any other connectivity options you're using.
- Clear Print Queue: If there are any stuck print jobs in the print queue, they can cause issues. Go to your computer's printer settings and clear any pending print jobs.
- Perform a Factory Reset: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you may need to perform a factory reset on the printer. Refer to the printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
