HP OfficeJet Pro 8132e All-in-One Printer

I'm getting the blue screen error code "05F4DE48" on my 8132e printer. I can't update the firmware, either via the control panel or the downloaded update utility. The printer bluescreens after failing to update the firmware. I have this problem since months and can't print.

Can someone help me?

Thanks.

Hi @h420p,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding error message on your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

  1. First, power cycle the printer. Turn it off and unplug it from power. Wait for 2-3 minutes to clear temporary memory, then plug it back in and turn it on. Check if the error persists.

  2. Next, perform a semi-full reset to restore factory settings and fix firmware corruption. Turn off the printer. Press and hold the Back (⤺) button and Cancel (X) button together while turning it on. Release the buttons when the HP logo appears. This will reset the printer settings. If it works, try updating the firmware again.

  3. If normal updates fail, try updating the firmware via USB in Recovery Mode. Download the latest firmware from HP’s official website. Connect the printer to your PC using a USB cable (avoid Wi-Fi). Put the printer into Recovery Mode by turning it off, holding the Power + Cancel (X) button while turning it on. The printer should enter Recovery Mode (it may display a blank or minimal screen). Run the firmware update tool on your computer. If successful, restart the printer.

  4. If the firmware update fails repeatedly and the blue screen remains, check for hardware issues. Try different power outlets and ensure there’s no surge protector in use.
