Hi @Bodykid,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The blue screen error with a code like "B8778EE4" on your Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M479fdw indicates a hardware or firmware issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.
Restart the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. This simple step can often resolve temporary issues.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Make sure there are no paper jams inside the printer. If you find any paper jams, carefully remove the stuck paper.
Update Firmware:
- Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Firmware updates can often address bugs and improve overall performance.
- Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and look for firmware updates.
Reset the Printer:
- Perform a factory reset on the printer. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to reset it.
Print a Configuration Page:
- Print a configuration page to check if the issue persists when printing a simple document. This can help determine if the problem is specific to certain types of documents or if it's a more general issue.
Check Printer Connections:
- Ensure that all cables connecting the printer to your computer or network are securely plugged in. Loose connections can cause communication errors.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I was able to fix mine. First I went to hp website on my laptop and went to support then software and drivers then I searched by my model and installed the latest updates. Once that was done I also went to my printer main screen slide over to apps then select apps then slide over to update print apps. Now I am able to print.
