I am trying to print a booklet using Publisher and my HP Envy 5032 printer. However, my printer keeps skipping pages for double sided printing. For example, the first two pages printed as double sided then the next two pages will print as single sided. On the next print, the first 4 pages might print fine but then the next two pages will only print single sided. I have made sure my printer has no error messages. My paper tray is full. What else can be done please as I am wasting a lot of paper and ink?

Welcome to the HP User Community.

My Publisher skills need work - that said, I managed to Import a Word document that I use for various testing.

I did have to tangle with the margins and my original document did have a footer field that was not particularly welcome in the converted file.

The document now appears to be "about" what I'd expect based on a modicum of experience with the format - and I was able to set it up to print in booklet mode.

True:  A converted file is not a true Publisher document.

Also True:  "Not the same thing" might prove to be significant.  ?

The following might be relevant...

Your full driver printer software might not be installed - or is installed and is not working correctly.

A quick way to check is to print out a test document from Word - no need to go "all out", printing a couple of pages should suffice to check the printing software and whether it works with Office software.

Your formatting / page layout in Publisher might be incorrect.

Brave words from a novice user - but it's possible and Publisher seems inordinately fussy about margins, borders, footers, image content -- pretty much everything.

What to do?

Export your document to PDF format and print that file in Booklet.

Will that work?  Maybe.

Test-Print just a few pages - four pages is usually sufficient to prove whether the Booklet format is working...

Example - Adobe Reader DC - PDF - Booklet - Half-Fold Tall - Letter - Portrait
