I have spent hours that I can never get back with HP trying to get my HP 9025 e to print 5 x 7 photos. I run a business from my house and need this capability. No one from HP has been about to figure this out… It will print 8 x 10s.

I am a long time HP user; I have an HP computer and have used HP printers for over 20 years, but I am ready to junk HP. Anyone out there have any solutions before I do that?

Hi @Bilbo95,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your frustration, and it's frustrating when a printer doesn't perform as expected. Before considering drastic measures like switching brands, let's try some troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the issue. Here are some suggestions.

Check Paper Size Settings:

  • Make sure that your printer and the print settings on your computer are configured for 5 x 7 photo paper. In the print settings, select the correct paper size.

Use the Right Paper:

  • Ensure that you are using the correct type and size of photo paper for your printer. Different printers have specific paper requirements, and using the wrong paper may cause issues.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause printing problems.

Printer Firmware Update:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your HP 9025 e printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.

Print from Another Device:

  • Try printing the 5 x 7 photo from another device, if possible, to rule out any issues with your computer.

Print a Test Page:

  • Print a test page from the printer itself. This can help determine if the issue is with the printer or the computer.

Third-Party Printing Software:

  • Try using third-party printing software to see if that resolves the issue. Sometimes, the default printing software can be the source of problems.

Check for Error Messages:

  • If there are any error messages on the printer or your computer, take note of them. These messages can provide valuable information about the nature of the problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have done all of the things that you suggested, both on my own and while online with support. My Brother printer does print the 5 x 7 photos.

I have been dealing with this problem since I bought this printer - it was never a problem with any of my past hp printers. I think this printer is faulty - I see the issue elsewhere online. I’m pretty disappointed.

Any other ideas?

By the way…I’ve been told by support that the problem was that I was using hp photo paper; that it was the software - which is HP; and multiple other inane things. It’s clearly the printer.
