Won't print. Has been printing just fine. Message says one or more cartridges may be damaged. Non HP cartridges. All have plenty of ink. Tricked it to print a report on ink levels. It shows all of the colors and black are almost full. Has there been another update to outlaw the non HP cartridges again recently?

Hi,
encountered the same issue. It appears that a recent firmware update by HP has made it virtually impossible to utilse after market (non-genuine inks) on this printer.
In the end HP wound up replacing my printer as after attempting all the ink issue suggestions, wound up with the Printhead firmly fixed to the right side of the printer where one could not access the printhead nor the inks.
I am looking further into the matter of HP updates suspected actions of excluding the of after market non genuine inks.
When my investigations are complete will post the results.

I would beg to differ even though I have encoutered print issues of late. Credit must be given to HP in the fact that they replaced my printer without question after following all of their troublesooting procedures without success.
I have owned and continue to own many HP products and this is due to the amazing support provied by HP in Australia. I just hope that this will continue.
I firmly believe that this issue with 'broken/faulty/missing cartridge' messages on HP printers is due to HP's printer updates that somehow disable or adversely affect non genuine inks.
I have taken this up with HP and they are responding to my concerns. Hopefully, we can convince HP that this type of anti-competitive behaviour is doing them immense harm in the market place. The mighty dollars speaks volumes to companies looking for their share of consumers monies - believe me!
I am sure that HP monitor this forum and should be fully aware of building consumer backlash to their actions in relation to the use of non genuine inks by consumers.
Stay tuned.

Realistically, I tried all of the suggestions in the past. There is nothing wrong with the printer. HP is constantly sending messages to the printers to tell it to stop printing if there isn't official hp cartridges inside. I can't pay $80 for color and $30 for black. I can buy another companies printer with ink for less. So I'm done with hp products.

Hi Sabretooth04,
I tried everything I could find on Youtube, support forums (not just this one) and nothing worked.
I am convinced that something in a recent firmware update by HP caused this issue with non genuine inks.
Spent hours on the phone with HP Support AU and in the end that wound up replacing my printer and inks.
Not happy that it appears to actions of HP in updates that is causing all the ink related issues on this forum.
Kind Regards,
