Bypass paper tray

I am so frustrated. I can't afford to buy a new printer but my paper tray is broken. It goes in just fine but one of the plastic pieces on the end broke off. I can't find replacement paper trays anywhere. Is there a way to make the printer try to print or to bypass the tray somehow? Everytime I try to copy something or print something it keeps saying the paper tray isn't inserted when it is.

I do not know of a way to bypass using the Input paper tray for any operation that requires use of the paper tray.

Worse,

The replacement tray might be available but -- if my research is correct -- the price to replace the tray is nearly the price of replacing the printer.  Add to that, you perhaps have to request a quote for the part before purchase.

I checked but did not find the part at eBay -- best you recheck, of course.

True - you can purchase a new printer for less than replacing the printer tray... not a great printer, but one that at least does the basics.  Beware, though, the printer you have includes features not found in "lesser" models / series.
