Hi, I did a reset of my 2year-old printer and now in course of setup, it is prompting to install the setup cartridges which I do not have anymore.
How can I bypass this and complete the setup.
Thanks.

Hi, to make it easier for anyone who can help; with this issue, this is an update of what remedial actions I have tried so far....
1. Each time the printer is powered on, it boots up to the setup menu and stalls at the Install Setup Cartridges screen.
2. So I tried the past suggested solutions to pull out the power cable, wait 60 seconds, insert power cable again. Step 1 repeats.
3. I have tried pressing and hold the power button until the light above the USB port lits up. A combination of the Home and Back buttons bring up a blue screen. On the resulting blue screen, I tried resetting the OOBE option. Step 1 repeats upon reboot.
4. On the blue screen, I have tried the MFG option whereupon a grid appears. 60 seconds later, the printer On/Off button was pressed which restarted the printer. Again Step 1 repeats.
5. On the blue screen, I have also tried a semi-reset. No luck.
So what else can we try... Surely, HP can't lock up a perfectly functioning printer just because of some non-existent setup cartridges. This is really frustrating to say the least.....Please help!

Hi Betty, thank you for your reply.
As per your suggestion, I got to the support menu, System Configuration and the TradeatOOBE mode screen.
Pressing Ok at this enables or disables Trade supplies. I set it to enable trade supplies, then press the red X to get back to the Home screen.
At this point, the cartridge levels all show zero (even though they are full.)
Upon restart, the printer defaults to the setup process again.....I am still stuck at the point where the setup prompts to "Install Cartridges" that came with the printer.
Setting the Trade toggle does NOT have any effect on bypassing the setup cartridges at all !

You've to press the X four times. I recommend you to power off and on the printer and try the steps again.

Hi Betty, I'm not sure if you are referring specifically to the Office Jet Pro 8610 because from the screen, there is no way to press the red X 4 times. Each press of the red X backs up one screen, a total of 3 presses bring one back to the Support Menu screen
Pressing the back key brings us back to the Home screen as show below .....
All the steps we have tried goes back to the Setup process being initiated over again and does NOT over-ride the prompt for startup cartridges.

My issue with the setup cartridges was NOT resolved.
The HP employee who was helping me escalated it up to the HP technical support twice over without reply from them.
I've attached a screenshot of the instructions, hopes it helps you.
