Bypass setup cartridges

Yes, success!

I accidentally pressed OK before I got to the 'Trade' thingy but it worked: I had to enter the language and country details, then the printer reported that I had pre-used cartridges instead of that dreaded 'use setup cartridges' message. So all is well now 🙂

Hi, I am having the same issue. Gifted an HP Envy 4527 without the setup cartridges. I have legit HP 302 Black and HP 302 Tri-Colour but it won't let me go forward because they're not setup cartridges.

My HP c309a stopped feeding paper yesterday so I moved the printhead and 564 ink cartridges into my c310 backup printer.  I got the c310 new  a few years ago and used it until getting the used c309a.  The c310 recognizes the ink head and cartridges, but it keeps giving messages "incompatible ink cartridges" and "Please install the SETUP ink cartridges" which were used and recycled.  I have tried doing the resets described in this thread without improvement.  Can you help me with a procedure that will correct the errors?  Thank you.

would you you also be able to assist me to solve this issue?

My HP Officejet 4622 is stuck at ‘install cartridges’ while using official hp cartridges. I do not have my initial cartridges anymore and when the color was not printing after installation of new cartridges I attempted a semi reset, now it is stuck with the error code’install cartridges’. I have attempted already several times the reset as per hp instructions (unplugging etc.) but nothing has worked.

I solved the problem after no solution from HP.  Threw out my HP printers including all spares (six total), returned $150  of spare ink cartridges and bought an Epson XP-7100.

So far, how do you like the Epson? Considering doing the same.

Good sheet feeder, scan surface is a bit small, printing is excellent, dvd printer much slower than HP.  But, there are always tradeoffs and I am happy with the switch.
