I recently bought a HP Envy 5055 with an open box from an auction site. All of the pieces are there, I purchased the correct ink, however it is telling me to use setup cartridges, which are missing. I know there's a way to bypass this step, can anyone please share this with me?

Is there a way that you would be able to also help me with the same issue? My mother bought this system new about 6 months ago and my brother set it up for her. By the time I got to her home the box was gone, along with the setup cartridges. I have gone on the HP site for trouble shooting ideas, and all the auto-chat bot gave me was that I needed to return it to the retailer (kind of hard to do now). It is also an HP Envy 5055. If you could help me out, that would be great. Thank you!

@MYMOMNEEDSHELP, Welcome to HP Support Community!
We can perform reset on the printer and bypass the message.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.
Hope this helps!
