1) The printed document takes time to dry up after printing. The paper is a glossy label and i also selected document type as other inkjet glossy. Does this printer has option to increase the drying time while printing?

2) Can this printer print on transaprent labels? If yes what paper type to be used?

3) Can it print on plastic or thermal transfer paper?

Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to help!

  • Transparencies require much longer drying times than other paper types.
  • Printing in Best mode can increase the dry time.

1) When ready to print, click File, click Print.
2) Depending on your driver version, click Properties, Settings, or Preferences and follow the steps below depending on the option.

For Properties or Settings, follow the steps below:

a) Click the Advanced tab.
b) In the Extra Dry Time section, move the slider toward More.

For Preferences, follow the steps below:
a) Click the Basics tab.
b) From the Basics tab, click Advanced Features.
c) In the Extra Dry Time section, move the slider toward More.

3) Try a sample print and see if the drying time needs to be increased more.

To increase the drying time for a Macintosh computer, follow the steps below:

a) From the File/Print Menu, select Ink under the General tab.
b) In the Dry Time section, move the slider toward More.
c) Try a sample print and see if the drying time needs to be increased more.

You may also try to decrease the amount of time it takes for the ink to dry by decreasing the print quality to Normal or Fast mode.

The printer supports iron-on transfer. Refer to this document for steps - HP Printers - Printing HP Iron-On Transfers (Mirror Images)

Hope this helps!

Let me know how that goes.

Hi Asmita,

Than you for your reply.

In my printer setting i dont see the drying time option. Could be driver issue. I also installed the drivers from hp website. On installing the driver from the hp website i lost the option to print in color.

Could you help what might be the issue?

Best regards

Thanks for letting me know. This could be an issue with the printer driver. Let's try re-installing it -

1) In the search box, type and open "Uninstall a Program".
2) Look for HP Printer software.
3) Right-click to uninstall.
4) In the search box, type and open “Devices and printers”.
5) In the Devices and Printers, look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose “Delete” or “Remove Device”.
6) Open the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”).
8) Click on the "Drivers" tab.
9) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click “Remove” at the bottom.
10) Select Ok.
11) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows.
12) Close Devices and Printers Once the software and drivers are removed.
13) Restart the computer.
14) Download and install the software and drivers from here.

You may also refer to "Print quality and improvement settings" and "Ink and toner handling settings" from this document.

Keep me posted.

Hi,

I did all the steps you gave. But still no option for drying time. Also when using the driver, color print option also is no more.

In paper type i also dont see Hp Photo Paper.

If driver installled via windows device driver update. I get the option for color print and HP photo paper but no drying time yet.

What am i missing here?

Best regards

Please try "Special Paper" in the paper type.

What type of paper are you using? Have you tried a different paper?

Let me know.

Thanks for replying. I'd suggest try creating a new user account and install the driver to see if that works -

1) Tap the Windows icon.
2) Select Settings.
3) Tap Accounts.
4) Select Family & other users.
5) Tap "Add someone else to this PC."
6) Select "I don't have this person's sign-in information."
7) Select "Add a user without a Microsoft account."
8) Enter a username, type the account's password twice, enter a clue and select Next.
9) Tap the Windows icon.
10) Select the User icon at the upper left corner of the Start menu.
11) Select the new user. You'll then sign into your account with your password from step 8.

Keep me posted.

Thanks for trying. I'd suggest you contact the HP Support team as it could be a driver issue.
