Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Upgraded my HP printer to an HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 but would like to use a black ink cartridge from my previous printer.  Can I substitute a 950XL for a 952XL?

Uh, no.  Mainly because the numbers are not the same.

I took youre answer to be a bit sarcastic.  I purchased a newer OfficeJet because Iiked the first one.  The cartridges looked identical and I had a couple left over from my first one and was hoping I could use them up before using the new ones.

I know they have different numbers, but that doesn't necesarilly mean that the old ones wouldn't work.

Would advise your future answers don't start with "uh."

Sir,

Using your logic would lead one to surmise that the HP Officejet Pro 8710 and HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 are different printers when in fact the only difference between them is one's product number ends in 0 and the other 5.

Thanks for the ear!

Between the 2, main difference is color maybe nothing major. [edit]
