DeskJet 2655 printer

I have an HP Windows 10 computer (don't know how many "bits" -- it's just past 1-year old) and a brand new (as of yesterday afternoon) HP DeskJet 2655 printer. BUT IT WILL NOT connect to my wi-fi because it's a 5G network. Seriously!!? MOST frustrating because I need to work from home -- so I am hoping PRAYING someone amongst you knows how to make my printer work???? (It did NOT come with any cords other than electric so I have NOT way to 'plug' it into my computer........ ;-( -- )SURE do hope you can PLEASE help!!!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

You can get a USB type A to USB type B cable from any local electronics store and use it for the printer. Even if you have and old printer around it will probably have the same cable.

Example:

https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Printer-Type-Cable-Male/dp/B00BCWALHM/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywor...

You should also be able to print with WIfi Direct to the printer. Here is a doc explaining how this is done:

Hope it helps,

David

Thank you David but, as it happens, I can not "go" to a store and -buy- a cable to connect this printer to my HP Desktop computer. I both live way out in the country (~25+ miles from any stores that might possibly have such a cable) and do not have access to a car at present. This printer (which I received yesterday, 4/3/2020) is a gift from my brother and his wife so I can work from home. It is very disappointing to me, frankly, that this printer will not connect to my 5-G network.  We're so out in the country here that I'd expect our wi-fi to be "behind" rather than a brand new HP printer. I've already talked with a tech from my ISP who laughed at me for being unhappy that I could not connect my printer to the wi-fi.  I do --fully-- understand that our country -- our world is in crisis at present (that is why I am working from home--we all were sent home).  I feel if this printer is incapable of functioning over a 5-G network then it should come equipped with the necessary cable to hook it up to a computer or laptop. Alternatively I would hope that if there -IS- a way to connect this printer to my 5-G network that I am too illiterate / technically stupid to comprehend that a live person could *PLEASE* help me.

What is the model of your router?  Most 5GHz routers also support the 2.4GHz band, likely you could enable the 2.4GHz band (using a different SSID) and use that to connect the printer.
