I somehow changed my printer (when printing from scanner) to 5 x8 paper (or guess I did) & can't figure out how to get it back to 8x11 letter size. I can pick letter size when printing from computer but the dialog box said 'incorrect paper' 'Copy does not support 5x8 etc. etc. HP Office Jet 8015e

Hi @voodoovicki,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are not able to change the letter size on the printer. It must be awful to be you right now.
I’m going to take care of this for you. I have shared a few steps below, I hope this helps:
From the Scanner Software:
- Open the Scanner Software: Locate and open the software you use for scanning on your computer, typically provided by HP. It might be called HP Scanjet Utility, HP Smart, or something similar.
- Select Settings: Look for a settings or preferences option within the software. It might be located in the menu bar, a gear icon, or under a separate "Scan settings" button.
- Find Paper Size: Within the settings, search for a section related to "Paper size" or "Document size." Different software interfaces might use different terms.
- Choose Letter Size: Select "Letter" or "8.5 x 11" from the available paper size options. If you don't see it, check for a "Custom" option where you can manually enter the dimensions.
- Apply and Save: Make sure to apply the changes and save any settings you adjusted.
From the Printer Driver:
- Open Printer Properties: Go to "Control Panel" or "Devices and Printers," depending on your system. Right-click your HP OfficeJet 8015e printer and choose "Properties" or "Printer Properties."
- Navigate to Paper Tab: Within the printer properties window, look for a "Paper" tab or similarly named section.
- Select Letter Size: Choose "Letter" or "8.5 x 11" from the available paper size options. Again, check for a "Custom" option if needed.
- Set as Default: Select "Set as Default" so this paper size is used for future printing and scanning jobs.
- Apply and Close: Click "Apply" or "OK" to save the changes and close the printer properties window.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thanks Rachel for your reply, I had checked every area of the software under print properties and print preferences and 'letter' size is selected in every area. My past printers I could change the paper size manually using the dashboard but for this printer there is no manual print size to select (or at least I can't find it). I just did what I should have done in the beginning, uninstall then reinstall the printer and that took care of my issue.
