HP OfficeJet Pro 9010e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

From one day to the next, my HP 9010 all in one stopped printing PDF files. It only feeds the paper out quickly, but without printing. I've tried all the suggestions I could find on this community page, but nothing seems to work.

@S_RIC, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Wait for 60 seconds and connect the power cord back in.
  5. Turn on the printer.

Check Printer Status:

First, ensure that the printer is online and not in "offline" mode. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners on your computer and check if your printer is set as the default printer.

Also, check the printer display panel to ensure it's not showing any error messages like "Out of paper" or "Ink low."

Clear Print Queue:

Sometimes a stuck print job can cause issues. Open the print queue by clicking on the printer icon in your system tray.

If there are any pending or stuck jobs, cancel or clear them and try printing again.

Check PDF File:

Test with a different PDF: Make sure the issue isn’t specific to the PDF file itself. Try printing a different PDF document from another source to see if the problem persists.

Open the PDF with a different program: If you're using Adobe Reader, try using a different PDF reader like Microsoft Edge (built-in browser) and check if printing works with those.

Refer: HP Printers - Cannot print PDFs from Adobe Reader (Windows) | HP® Support

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor (Windows only):

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
