Chrome OS

I cannot print in color. I selected the default setting and still it won't print in color.  I selected view in PDF and it is in color, but when I click on print, it prints in black and white.  I once changed it to draft black and white, but when I wanted to change it to print in color, it won't allow me.  I am preparing for a very important event and am running out of time.

Please help!

Thank you!

Hi @Neoknai,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

Have you tried these steps?

Try the below steps to fix this issue.

  • Right click on the printer and select printing preferences.
  • Select the radio button which is there next to the color.
  • Refer the picture below.
  • Then click on apply.

You may also Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report

Print a Print Quality Diagnostic report from HP Smart, and then evaluate the results.

Make sure your device is on the same wireless network as your printer.

Open HP Smart, and then select your printer, if it is not already selected.

Under Tools, click Printer Reports.

Next to Print Quality Report, click Print.

Update the Firmware by selecting the current OS. Sometimes this fixes the issue. If your OS is not listed, then try using a different OS and see if that works.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
