I'm attempting to print 4 copies of a two-sided pdf on 1 sheet of paper, and I select printing double sided and 4 copies per sheet, but instead I get the front and back of the document in the top two quadrents of the page, nothing on the bottom two quadrents, and nothing on the back side of the page. If I select 1 copy, I get one page as described. If I select 4 copies, I get four pages of the page I just described. What's going on here? How do I print 4 double sided copies per sheet?

@stuckinsanity, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
To assist you better, which device are you printing from?
Which application are you using to print?
Check the printer settings:
On a Windows PC go to Devices and Printers > Right-click on the printer > Printer properties > Device settings
Under Installable options, check for Printer Hard Disk and Mopier mode.
If found, change the settings to Not Installed and Disabled respectively.
If you are printing a PDF file from Adobe reader, follow these steps:
Open the document > click the printer icon to open print menu
Set Pages to Print = All (or for testing, select "Pages" 1-4)
Under Page Sizing & Handling
Select Multiple
Select Pages per sheet = 4
Page Order = Horizontal
Orientation = Portrait
Select Auto-rotate pages within each sheet
If you want a border around the content, Select Print page border
To print duplex, Select Print on both sides of paper
If duplex is selected, Select "Flip on short edge" (for right-left reading as in English / American)
Click / Open Page Setup
Select Paper Size = A4
Select Source -Tray 1
Click OK to set the paper size and exit that menu
Click Print on the main print menu
Let me know how this goes.
