Thank you for reaching out to the HP Support community!
Please provide the below information to assist you with an accurate resolution.
- Were you able to print before from the printer?
- What is the status of the Wireless Light on the printer? Is that Solid or flashing?
- The WiFi router to which the printer is connected to is that a dual-band router(Router that has both 2.4GHz and 5Ghz signals)?
- If Yes, do the 2.4GHz and the 5Ghz network have the same name or are they different?
- Have you tried printing from a non-Apple device?
Let's try these steps:
Step 1: Check if the Printer and the iPad/iPhone/Mac book are connected on the same network
- On the printer control panel, touch the
icon and check the network name to which the printer is connected.
- From your iPad/iPhone/Mac book before you print, make sure that they are connected to the same network as the printer.
- If they are on the same network and if you cannot print, proceed to the next step
Step 2: Restart the Router, Printer, and iPad/iPhone/Mac book
- Turn off the WiFi Router, wait for 60 seconds and turn it back on
- Turn off the Printer, wait for 60 seconds and turn it back on
- Restart the iPad/iPhone/Mac book
- Try to print
- If the issue persists, proceed to the next step
Step 3: Check if the multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) feature is enabled on the WiFi Router
mDNS is a feature that allows Apple devices to communicate with other devices connected on a network through Bonjour packets.
If this feature is disabled then the Apple devices would have some communication issues on the network.
Login to your router settings page and ensure that the mDNS(forwarding bonjour packets) feature is enabled.
Once enabled, restart all the devices and try to print.
Also, try updating the printer firmware.
- Refer to this link to update the printer firmware.
