Hi @Jenlefty,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Performing a factory reset on your HP DeskJet 2622 All-In-One Printer may help resolve issues related to cartridge recognition. Please note that a factory reset will also clear any custom settings you have configured on the printer. Here's how you can perform a factory reset.
- Turn on the printer: Make sure your printer is powered on.
- Cancel any print jobs: Before proceeding with the factory reset, cancel any print jobs that might be in the queue.
- Load paper: Ensure that there is paper loaded in the input tray.
- Press and hold the Cancel button: On the control panel of the printer, locate the "Cancel" button. Press and hold it down.
- While holding the Cancel button, press the Wireless button: While still holding down the Cancel button, press the "Wireless" button. Hold both buttons down for about 5 seconds until the Power light starts to blink.
- Release the buttons: Release both the Cancel and Wireless buttons.
- Check the lights: The lights on the control panel will start to blink. Wait until the lights stabilize. This indicates that the printer has been reset.
- Print a test page: After the reset, try printing a test page to check if the issue is resolved. You may need to follow the on-screen instructions for aligning the cartridges or any other setup prompts.
If the problem persists after the factory reset, you may want to check the following.
- Ensure that the new cartridges are correctly installed. Make sure they are securely snapped into place.
- Check if there is any protective tape or packaging on the cartridges that need to be removed.
- Make sure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
