HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Error: Cannot Print

Replace the following depleted ink cartridges to resume printing  (Y)

I am getting this message on my printer and it will not allow me to go any further. I got a new yellow cartridge that is full with ink but still it will not allow me to print or do any thing else.  I have tried two new full Yellow Cartridges in it but it will still not allow me to print.

I am so frustrated with the Printer and I do not know what to do. It is the HP Officejet Pro 8500A Primium.  It will not even let me print in black.

Welcome to the HP support community.

Did you make a copy and check if that prints fine?

Meanwhile:-

Use an automated tool to clean the printheads

  1. Load plain white paper into the tray.

  2. Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.

  3. On the control panel, touch the right arrow  to display the second navigation screen.

  4. Touch Setup, and then touch Tools.

  5. Touch Clean Printheads.

    The printer cleans the printheads.

  6. Wait while the printer completes the printhead cleaning process, and then touch OK. You might have to clean the printheads more than once for the best print quality.
