I need guidance on how to perform a hard reset of my HP printer (HP Officejet Pro 8610). I cannot access any of the administrator features from the printer control panel or the HP Utility app. I came across some similar post and I followed the instructions. I tried resetting the network connection, and it keeps telling me that that has been locked, the printer cannot access the internet because I cannot enable web services (locked out also) and it is placing my HP InstaInk account in jeopardy.
I followed the instructions in the manual on resetting the printer to the factory settings, that was unsuccessful (still locked out). I can print with a USB cable connected to my Mac, but cannot print wirelessly. Can someone tell me where to go from here? Thanks!

Good Day. A warm welcome to the HP community. I reviewed the case regarding issues with the admin password on your printer and it has locked you out from accessing the control panel features of the printer. Superb description, brilliant troubleshooting and terrific observations made before posting. Kudos to you for that. It will be a delight to assist you here.
To assist you with accurate information I would require more information regarding this:
- Did this occur after changing your router or ISP?
- Are you able to log into the EWS page of the printer from a computer browser?
For now, try these steps:
- Please perform a hard reset on the printer from this link:: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-officejet-pro-8620-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5367611/docum... and follow instructions from the section “Step 1: Reset the printer”
- Then please check your Forum private message box for instructions from me on how to perform the semi-full reset.
- You need to check the upper right corner next to the bell Icon for a private message from HP with the instructions.
This should do the trick for you.
Perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. Good luck to you. I will keep a watch for your response.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

I tried your solutions to my problem. I can not copy etc. Functions are disabled -contact administrator.
This never use to be an issue and not sure why it became one.
I can print. I can scan.
Then I ran into a fraudster and they have been reported but HP still allows them to maintain their account.
Amnesix is their handle.
Hey, can not use my printer and can to fix it.
