My printer is connected to my router but will not run web services or connect to my iMac.

I have tried switching off router, printer and computer and I have reconnected it via wireless but no joy.

I tried switching off Web services on the printer and now I cannot reinstall it.

A warm welcome to HP forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.

Resetting the printer network settings, updating printer firmware and Mac software may resolve the issue. Let's try these step:

1.) Unplug your modem/router and leave it powered off.

2.) Restart your printer, from the printer control panel, swipe left and then touch "Setup". Touch 'Network Setup", touch "Restore Network Settings".

3.) Power off your printer

4.) Reconnect your modem/router and wait for it to re-establish its internet connection.

5.) Power on your printer.

6.) Run Wireless setup wizard on the printer to connect it back to your network.

Once the printer is connected, download and install the printer firmware update available here. Then use the steps available here to update the software on your Mac.

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you for your suggested solutions. I had previously tried these.

I have since discovered that the issue was with my Sky router and a TP-Link range extender which wouldn't allow the printer to connect to the internet.

I appreciate your time to reply to my query.

You are welcome!

It's unfortunate that the router and range extender is not allowing the printer to connect to the internet. We could try assigning a manual IP and google DNS for the printer, most of the web services connectivity issues can be resolved by assigning Google DNS for the printer. Here is how to do it:

Please ensure the printer is up-to-date with its firmware. If you are unsure, you can download and install the latest firmware update from here.

Once you are up-to-date with the firmware, please set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers for the printer. The steps on how to set a manual IP address can be found here.

For the DNS servers please use 8.8.8.8 for the Manual Preferred DNS Server and 8.8.4.4 for the Alternate DNS server. These are Google’s public DNS servers.

If issue persist, then you may also try these steps.
