I've tried to install my the printer software on my Mac High Sierra 10.13.1 computer using HP Easy Start. However, the installation keeps failing. I've tried everything to make it work but it just won't download.

Greetings @andypg95

Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.

I understand that you are unable to configure the printer on your computer running on MAC OS X 10.13, is that right?

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Are you able to make a copy on the printer?

How is the printer connected to your computer? USB or wireless.

If wireless, Are you using a dual band router?

Note: HP Printers do not work or connect to 5Ghz networks. If you are using a dual band router, please give different names to 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks and connect the printer to the 2.4Ghz network.

Request you uninstall the printer software if already install earlier. Click here

Once you have removed the HP Software on your MAC, reset the printing system. Click here

After resetting the printing system, restart your computer.

Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable.

Visit www.hp.com/drivers and enter the printer model you are using.

Check if there is a firmware update available, if yes, please install it on your printer. (USB only.)

Once the firmware update is done,

Download the printer software from this link and setup the printer.

Let me know if this helped.

I had the exact same issue for a few months and tried everything including all the steps HP suggested. The only thing that worked was creating a temporary new user profile (cannot be guest account AND must be given administrator privileges) and downloading Easy Start and installing the printer software through it.

I would also suggest disabling all anti-virus software, firewalls, ad-blocker applications etc. on this new user profile since it seems like an application is blocking some feedback verification to HP's servers and preventing the installation of the printer drivers.

You can delete the new user profile as soon as you've installed the HP software since it'll be system-wide.
