I am unable to print mailing labels. I can print any other kind of document with no trouble. I was able to print labels yesterday but today unable to do so. I have tried HP Smart and it finds no errors. Can someone help. These labels are in a PDF file.

Welcome to the HP User Community.

Check the job setup.

For example,

Check / Update / Edit / the paper size and / or the paper type needed for the current job to print the label sheets.

Next, check the setting in the software / application you are using to view / submit the job to the printer.

Start...

Some (many) standard labels print using Media type for Plain Paper - if your label sheets are "thick" and if you used a paper type other than plain paper the last time you printed labels successfully, use that same paper type this time.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Paper Size & Type - Tray and Paper Management

If you have changed the paper size / type setting on the printer since the last time you loaded paper - OR even if you have not done so:

Open the paper tray - wait 3 seconds > Close the tray > Set / adjust / re-enter the paper size & type of paper loaded in the printer.

Note that this printer lacks a printer display panel - use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to check / adjust the paper size & type.  EWS is available from your browser or from within HP Smart.

Example - Retain / Modify (Edit) / Check and Adjust - Paper Size & Type - Tray and Paper Management

Retain_Printing_Preferences_13Retain_Printing_Preferences_13

Next,

Create the label job using your completed label document - PDF format

Remember the paper size and type -

Use what worked before

OR

Select a "thick" paper type as available on your printer in the media / paper type list

OR

Try selecting Plain paper in the size of the labels
