I suggest you do a Hard Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Then, refer to this link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-photosmart-c4380-all-in-one-printer-series/3221640/document/... for Carriage Jam' Message Displays for HP Photosmart printer.

Carriage jam error occurs when the carriage or the jnk cartridge are not moving from left to right.

How to fix it.

1. Unplug the power cable

2. Remove all the ink from the printer

Note: if the ink cartridge does not kove to the center then move it with little bit more force it will come to the center.

3. Remove all the sheet from printer.

Wait for 5 minute to release the statics charge from the printer.

4. Clean the ink copper contacs with lint free cloth.

5. Checked and ensure that there is no jammed paper in the printer carriage area, tray, feeder, rollet and underneath of the printer.

If you have checked and cleaned above mentioned steps then you may

Plug the printer to dorect wall outlet

Power it on

Put ink cartridge in the printer and close the ink access door.

Fan the sheet and then put them in the tray and close it.

Place the documents on the scanner bed or feeder and the press the copy icon to copy

Hope this will help u to fix it else visit www.hp.com/chat
