I figured out how to remove and clean the Printhead. I reinstalled in reverse and now it just slams. What did I do wrong when I reinstalled the Printhead. Please help. Thanks

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP Officejet 6700 Premium e-All-in-One Printer. I read that after you removed the printhead for cleaning purpose and then after you reinstalled it, the carriage slams. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.
To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Did you try to remove the printhead out and insert it back once again?
- Are you also facing any print quality issues?
If the issue continues then suggest you to perform the following steps on your HP printer:
- Disconnect the power cable from the printer while the printer is still ON.
- Disconnect any other cables if connected the printer.
- Press and hold the printer’s power button for 15 seconds.
- The printer should be directly connected to the wall outlet and not to a surge protector. Reconnect the power cable to print and the printer should power ON by itself. If the printer doesn’t power ON then please manually power it ON.
If the issue persists then you may reset the printer to its original settings. This will disconnect the printer from the wifi and you may have to reconfigure it again. I have sent you a private message with the reset steps.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to reply with the results. Cheers! 🙂

Check to make sure the encoder strip is inside the sensor on the back side of the printhead, the encoder strip lets the printer know the location of the print head. When it does not read the location it will slam against the side and be unuseable. Hope this helps!
