I need some help with my HP photosmart C3100 printer. I don't know what cartridges should I buy.

Thank you for your useful answer. Do you also know if I can print without having tri-color ink cartridge? Only with 1 ink cartridge not both!

Not sure if your printer supports single cartridge mode or not.  Worth a try.
