This is driving me insane. I keep getting the same error up “Remove and reinstall the indicated ink cartridge making sure it is installed correctly”
I have taken them out about 10 times now, switched off the printer several times. Cleaned them. Done everything that the help sections suggest. Please someone help me before I throw my printer out of the window!!!

Hi @Pinkpussycat,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're receiving a cartridge error message while using your HP printer, there are a few possible solutions you can try.
- Check the cartridge: Make sure the cartridge is properly installed and that it's the correct cartridge for your printer model. Remove the cartridge and re-insert it to ensure it's seated correctly. You can also try cleaning the cartridge contacts with a lint-free cloth.
- Restart the printer: Sometimes simply restarting the printer can resolve the issue. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait a few seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on again.
- Update the firmware: HP occasionally releases firmware updates for their printers that can fix issues like cartridge errors. Check the HP website to see if there is updated firmware available for your printer model.
- Replace the cartridge: If none of the above solutions work, the cartridge may be defective or damaged. Try replacing the cartridge with a new one to see if that resolves the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi I’ve tried all these things and it’s still coming up with the error. It looks like it’s just he black cartridge.
I am on a go instant ink plan so it’s not like I can try another cartridge as I’m not due the colour one yet. I really need to print too!
not sure where to go from here.
