Hi!

My multidevice machine doesn't let me do my work anymore. 😞

When I turn it on, it makes weard noises (like a wheel is jumping over another instead off spining smoothly together). The display roughly says: "The cartrige carriage blocked. Remove the blockade of the carrier." or in my language: "Zagozditev nosilca kartuš. Odstranite zagozditev nosilca."

I've tried

  • opening the hood and searched for a stuck paper or something, but there is none.
  • unpluged the printer and pluged it back in, but no success.
  • re-installing the cartridges. Nothing.
  • moving the cartidge tray by hand, and it runs smoothly.

The noise apears when the cartidges are lined right. But it also seems like they cannot move left by themselves...

Do I need a new printer, or can we fix this?

Kind regards,

Anja.

@lost15

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

It's a pleasure assisting you in finding answers to your technical queries.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Any hardware changes made on the printer?

Are you facing this issue after an update?

I suggest you do a Hard Reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on. (Remove the cartridges)

(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

(9) Install the cartridge.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Update the firmware for the printer using this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-deskjet-ink-advantage-3520-e-all-in-one-printer-series/51655...

Restart the printer.

Hi!

I've followed the steps you suggested, but nothing has changed. There were no hardware changes made on the printer, nor were any updates made up until now, when I've followed your instructions.

I've made a shot of the noise and the display alert: https://youtu.be/9zI-J3cNYFY

Any new thoughts maybe? 🙂

Have a nice day.

@lost15

Appreciate all your time and efforts.

This could be a hardware issue with the printer as the carriage is not moving.

I have sent you a private message, for the service option that cannot be shared in a public post.

Can you please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

Have a great day!

@Raj1788

So, I appreciate your suggestion made in the private message, but have to say that I still haven't found the answer.

All that the support did is informed me about my expired waratny and  redirected me to the HP product website, where I can read the manual.

So I guess this means I need a new printer?

Have a lovely day.
