Hp Deskjet 3776
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Just received brand new Hp printer deskjet 3776 bought online from hp shopping website. Powered on the printer in the hope that the cartridge slot would come out from the left and into the middle so that I can install the new cartridges that came with the printer. However the cartridge slot is not coming out and stuck in the left corner. Error message e3 is coming. Tried all the support videos, nothing is helping.

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

I understand that the cartridge slot is not moving and you are unable to install the cartridges on your brand new Deskjet 3776

I'll try my best to help.

I suggest you perform a printer reset

(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed

Again try to move the carriage manually and you can also follow the instructions in this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05072414

If the issue persists, I suggest you contact our Phone Support for replacement since it's brand new

1) Click on this link - https://www.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp/contact.html

2) Click on "Continue as guest".
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Click on "Show Options".
Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

Keep me posted if you need further assistance

Thank you 🙂

This solution did not helped. There is no question of paper being stuck anywhere in printer as it is brand new and I was trying to install cartridge for the first time. I think I have to connect to phone support and ask for a replacement. Really horrible experience here. Never expected this with a company like HP.
