HP Envy 4520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi! I recently bought an HP Envy 4520 which said it was able to print in 1200x1200 DPI. I'm using it to print out some family photos but for some reason when I print them out they don't look as crisp. I went to check on my printer settings and under maximum resolution it says 600x600 Dpi. anyway I can change it to 1200 dpi? The photos are grayscale by the way.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Envy 4520 Printer. I understand that you want to print in maximum dpi settings and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

1. From your software, select Print.

2. Make sure your printer is selected.

3. Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box. Depending on your software application, this button might be called Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer Properties, Printer, or Preferences.

4. Click the Paper/Quality tab.

5. From the Media drop-down list, select the appropriate paper type and print quality.

6. Click the Advanced button.

7. In the Printer Features area, select Yes from the Print in Max DPI drop-down list.

8. Select the appropriate paper size from the Paper Size drop-down list.

9. Click OK to close the advanced options.

10. Confirm Orientation on the Layout tab, and then click OK to print.

Click here and refer page 17 i n the user guide.

Let me know how it goes.

cheers.
