How do I change the language on my printer to English? The display screen does not allow me to swipe to the left and I can not find how to edit the settings. Thanks!

Thank you for responding,

I recommend you install the latest drivers using the below technique and once the printer is installed, you may then use the instructions on Step 2 or the other steps within the article to change the language, accordingly:

  • Press "Windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window.
  • Type "services.msc" to get Services - Go to "Print spooler" - Right-click and "Stop" the service.
  • Now again open "Run" - Type "spool" and ok - Go to PRINTERS folder - delete everything in that folder.
  • Go to services again - Start the print spooler.
  • Now check for issue resolution.
  • If the issue persists, also try clean installing the printer drivers. Here are the steps:
  • First, unplug the USB cable from the printer if present.
  • Go to Control panel - Programs and feature - Select all the HP printer entries and uninstall them.
  • Now go to Control panel - Devices and printer - Select all the printer entries and remove the device.
  • Press the "windows key" + "r" to get the "Run" window open - Type "printui.exe /s" (There is a space between .exe & /) and press enter.
  • Under print server properties, go to drivers - remove any entry there as well.
  • Again, go to the Run window, type - "c:/programdata" - Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
  • Restart your computer.

Then, use this link to access the HP website, find the drivers compatible with your windows and install it: Click here

@Jillcarroll

Welcome to the HP Forums,

We'll be with you, until it's all sorted.

There are a few steps that should lead you towards your destiny and here's what we need to start with, If the printer control panel displays the wrong language, remove any protective film from the touchscreen, and then change the language through the software installation, Embedded Web Server (EWS), or control panel menu:

Step 1: Remove the protective film from the control panel

To prevent any scratches to the touchscreen during shipping, your printer might come with protective film on the printer control panel. For the control panel to be fully responsive to touch, remove the protective film.

Once the protective film is removed, continue to the next step.

(By the end of this article all the issues should be resolved)

Let me know how that pans out

I will have a colleague follow-up on this to ensure it's taken care off,

as I need to know if the issue has been resolved, to get proper sleep at night.

feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon,

followed by clicking on 'Accepted as Solution' as it would help the community gain more knowledge, and have a great day Ahead!

My control panel did not have a protective covering on it when I took it out of the box, if that matters. I found all of the steps you provided, but I am trying to change the language using my phone as my computer. Step two of the link says to select my printer, but it is not listed. The panel is touch, but it only changes two diff options, one is to print a test page (I have done this twice already!). Because the language is not one I can read, i am not sure it says. I am so discouraged that this is so difficult for me to figure out!!!
I do appreciate your time, however.

Is this the only way to change the language on my printer???

OMG, that is just so extensive! I've had many HP products in past, but if this is the only way, then I will return this printer.
