My virtually new HP Chromebook has started causing documents printed to my virtually new HP 8130 printer to have double printed lines of text, but the second line(s) are slightly below the first line of print.. I have tried doing printer clean 3 times, printer head align multiple times. No difference. Self test print pages from the printer itself are fine. When I print from my Dell laptop no problem. The issue exists no matter what the source being printed, (PDF, Word, web) . Just installed all new ink cartridges after the demo cartridges went empty. Help!

Hi @WarHokie ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I'm sorry to hear about the double-printed lines you're experiencing when printing from your Chromebook—this must be frustrating, especially with new devices. Let's work to resolve this issue!
- Have you recently updated Chrome OS on your Chromebook? If not, does the issue persist after updating?
- Is your printer connected to the Chromebook via Wi-Fi, or are you using a cable connection?
- Have you tried printing from another application on the Chromebook to see if the issue is consistent across all apps?
Let's try these steps.
Update Chrome OS: Ensure your Chromebook's operating system is up-to-date. Go to Settings > About Chrome OS > Check for updates and install any available updates.
Remove and Re-add Printer: On your Chromebook, go to Settings > Advanced > Printing > Printers and remove your HP 8130 printer. Re-add it by clicking Add Printer and following the prompts.
Clear Cache and Reset Print Settings: Sometimes, cached print settings cause issues. Go to your Chromebook's Chrome browser > Settings > Advanced > Reset settings, and clear cached data for printing.
Update Printer Firmware: Although the issue doesn’t occur with your Dell laptop, double-check the firmware for your printer. Use the HP Smart app or visit the HP support website to ensure your printer firmware is current.
Test Using Google Cloud Print Alternative: As Google Cloud Print is no longer supported, ensure your Chromebook uses native printing options. Test printing from a different app or use a Google Drive document to verify whether the issue is application-specific.
