Help! I just changed the two cartridges in my printer and now it is making a click, click, click noise that coincides with black horizontal lines across my printed page on both the front and the back, even when printing one-sided. Help!

If the noise started when you changed the drum then I would lean towards a bad drum. No sure on the drum units on this but most HP products have a drive shaft on the right hand side and we have seen some of them fail or get bent. Should be a warranty issue from the supply side. Contact your vendor or HP technical support.

Try reseating the toner cartridge in the drum unit again and remove and reseat the drum unit as well. Make sure that no packing material from the toner unit fell into the drum assembly and is preventing proper seating of the toner.

pulled everything out and inspected the inside and check to see if I missed a strip or packaging of some sort and I didn't find anything wrong. Put it all back and it is still making the noise. I replaced the drum two days ago and that is when it started making noise so then I replaced the ink cartridge and it is still making that noise. I think it is the drum that is causing it? Any thoughts? I used genuine HP products.
