99% of 49 error codes are cauased by an issue between the firmware of the printer and the driver.  This error is the printer equivalent of not hearing or understanding a question. Often caused by updated applications that insert new print language codes into a document that the printer simply does not understand. A firmware update will usually resolve the issue, however the update might cause issues if you are using 3rd party cartridges. 1st troubleshooting  step is to disconnect any usb or network connections, including wireless network and power cycle the printer. If it comes to ready with no connections, the next step is to purge the print spooler on your computer and then reconnect the printer and update the firmware using the latest version listed at support.hp.com.
