Color LaserJet Pro MFP-M281fdw shows 49 Service Error after firmware update from 20th October

Drucker die in der dauerschleife error 49 hängen werden nun von HP ersetzt. Auch ausserhalb der Garantie. Ich hier in Deutschland bekomme nun einen neuen Drucker. Das ist inzwischen auch so beim telefonsupport bekannt.

Ich habe bereits einen neuen Drucker erhalten (M283fdw). Wohne in der Schweiz. Der Drucker kam aber aus Deutschland. Defekten Drucker wird abgeholt.

M283fdw, aber kam ohne Toner und ich bleibe am Toner aus defekten Drucker sitzen, da in  M283 nicht mehr passen und muss fast CHF 320.- in Toner investieren. Für CHF 499.- konnte ich neuen Drucker kaufen samt Toner drin. Schöne Scheiss HP

Ja, obwohl im Begleitbrief steht, dass Toner beigelegt wurde, weil alte nicht mehr passt. Scheiss HP. Von mir können sie den Drucker wieder haben. Ich werfe kein Geld mehr für HP aus

Thank you for your post, the linked Firmware M280_Series_FW_Update-20221010 have fixed it for me without activating the USB. I did not have to open the Printer

initially the firmware update didnt run, and the Printer wasnt recognized by the PC.

However, i ran the M280_Series_FW_Update-20220414 first, then the Printer appeared on my PC, next i ran the 20221010 firmware and it is back to live again.

I didn't need the new format board as I was able to activate my European Rev-A board with a jumper wire between the dots as per the picture by Gökhan_.

After I received replacement printer without toner from HP, MFP-M283fdw for MFP-M281fdw and learned that toner is not compatible, I was totally disappointed with HP. On the cover letter it said to ONLY use included toner because not compatible , but there was no toner in the package or in the printer at all. Several emails to  HP support, remained unanswered. Now I have also applied this solution and my printer is running normally again. I keep my MFP-M281fdw because I still have plenty of toner and send replacement printer back to HP. I refuse such a "help" where I have to spend another 320 Swiss Francs to use replacement printer. To throw away toner from the MFP-M281fdw is out of the question.

Nachdem ich Ersatz drucker ohne Toner von HP erhalten habe, MFP-M283fdw für MFP-M281fdw und erfahren, dass Toner nicht kompatibel ist, war ich total enttäsucht von HP. Auf dem Begleitbrief stand, dass man NUR beigelegte Toner benutzen soll, weil nicht kompatibel , aber im Paket oder im Drucker war gar kein Toner. Mehrere Emails an HP Support, blieben unbeantwortet. Jetzt habe ich auch diese Lösung angewendet und mein Drucker läuft wieder ganz normal. Ich behalte mein MFP-M281fdw, weil ich noch viel Toner habe und sende Ersatz Drucker an HP zurück. So eine "Hilfe", wo ich noch 320 Schweizer Franken ausgeben muss um Ersatz Drucker zu benutzen, lehne ich ab. Dazu noch Toner vom MFP-M281fdw wegzuwerfen kommt nicht in der Frage.

My board doesn't have the pins either. Did you get yours to work? I'm not sure which pins to touch to force it into firmware update mode.
