I use instant ink. I installed my first instant ink black cartridge and was printing fine. I then discovered it was not printing in color so I put in my first instant ink tricolor cartridge and that did not solve the problem. I have it selected to print in color. I did a test page and it printed the bars all in black and white.

Hey there! @zombemombe,
Does the issue persist when you make a copy from your printer?
Have you tried checking with a different ink cartridge?
Try replacing the low or empty ink cartridges on the printer.
Please try few steps recommended below.
Print a Print Quality Diagnostic page, and then evaluate the results.

Load plain paper into the input tray.
-
On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.

Touch Tools, and then touch Print Quality Report.
A Print Quality Diagnostic page prints.
