When I print a picture with regular paper, colors are good and match the monitor.. With photo paper, colors are not good. Why?

Problem solved. Grays and blacks on photo paper were printing with a greenish tint. Some orther colors were off. I googled this and found that the lack of Magenta may be the problem. I printed a test page and found the photo cartridge as not showing. I originally checked and it showed as low. I replaced the cartridge and problem solved. The HP 99 photo cartridge has black, cyan, and magenta colors.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
It's a pleasure assisting you to find answers to your technical queries.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
What's the make of the photo paper?
Are you using HP Photo paper?
Did you try to print from a different application?
How long are you facing this issue?

I am using HP Premium Plus Photo paper, 4 x 6 glossy and 8-1/2 x 11 soft gloss. I tried printing from several different applications (Microsoft Word, Windows Photo Viewer, Corel Paint Shop Pro, etc). Plain paper looks good. I have not printed many pictures in the last year, but several months ago I noticed pictures I printed with photo paper did not look corect. I just accidently discovered that pictures printed with plain paper look good and match the monitor.
