Hi @Debomitta,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the color light on your HP DeskJet printer continues blinking after changing the ink cartridges, here are a few troubleshooting steps to try.

Check for Proper Installation:

  • Ensure that the new ink cartridges are installed correctly. Remove and reinsert them, making sure they snap securely into place.

Clean the Cartridges and Contacts:

  • Sometimes, dirt or ink buildup on the cartridge contacts can cause issues. Gently wipe the contacts on both the cartridge and the printer using a soft, lint-free cloth.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for about 60 seconds. Plug it back in and turn it on to see if the blinking light stops.

Check for Ink Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Verify that the ink cartridges you're using are the correct model for your printer. Incorrect cartridges can cause error lights to blink.

Check for Paper Jam:

  • Ensure there is no paper jam or obstruction inside the printer. Even small bits of paper can cause a blinking light.

Printer Software and Firmware Update:

  • Make sure your printer’s software and firmware are up to date. Sometimes, a firmware update may resolve ongoing issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
