My printer will not print. It shows an unexpected configuration problem OX80040003. How do I correct this. My suspicion is this has been caused by a recent Windows 10 download. I have deleted and reinstalled a number of times. I even spoke to a tech with H.P. and he could not resolve the problem. Finally, I deleted and reinstalled this A.M. and everything seemed fine, at least the program quit insisting that I reinstall. I could use the program to scan. But, now the above error appears. I do believe before this happened the printer was using the 32 bit

Welcome to the HP Community
Could you please help me with the exact model name or the product number of the printer?
Check if the carriage is moving freely?
Remove the cartridges and I suggest you do a Hard Reset on the printer
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Reseat the cartridge.
Keep me posted, how it goes!
Have a great day!
Cheers:)

Good morning,
I followed your instructions but still cannot print from Microsoft Edge. I am able to print from all other programs and make copies and scan off my printer. It is an HP OfficeJet Pro 6978. Let me know if you have any other suggestions and thanks for your help.

As the printer is working fine with other application, this could be a browser issue.
Have a great day!
Cheers:)
