To get you a chance to insert the printed side one to print side two.

I am a volunteer and do not work for HP.

The HP Officejet 5255 printer DOES NOT do automatic duplex COPYING or SCANNING. However, it will
do duplex PRINTING (from a file from your device). if you change the setting in the print menu's
settings tab to print on both side and select whether you want to "flip on long edge" (for a portrait output)
or "flip on the short edge" (for landscape output). I had to go through two hours of USELESS HP
"tech support" and getting disconnected TWICE!😠 I figured it out myself!
The Easiest way to duplex copy is to already have a printout of each side of the document you want to
make 2-sided. I suggest, to alleviate confusion, you do one document at a time: (1) Make sure enough paper
and ink are loaded. (2) Place the printed side of your first page FACE UP...keep in mind the placement of the
top of the sheet. (3) Place the printed side of your second page FACE UP and UNDER the first page...make
certain the top of this page is UPSIDE DOWN from the first page! (4) place the pages in the ADF (automatic
document feeder) tray. (5) Go to the printer panel and press COPY. (6) Select the number of copies desired.
(7) Press the settings wheel at the bottom of the screen. (8) If not already on, press the 2-SIDED options to
turn it on. (9) Press the return arrow on the printer to go back to the previous page. (8) Press either START
BLACK or START COLOR...your preference which is used. Sorry this was so long...but, I tried to make it as clear
as possible.🙄 I'm still working on how to duplex several documents at one time using the ADF tray.🤔
Good Luck, you guys!👋
