Printer shows cyan hp cartridge is full on display. Diagnostic report has an empty space where cyan is. I have cleaned, tried a new cartridge, took it out and tried again. Still nothing!!!!

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
It's a pleasure assisting you in finding answers to your technical queries.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Are you using genuine HP Ink cartridge?
Did you try with a different Ink cartridge?
Meanwhile, Follow the below step that could resolve the issue.
Clean the printhead
The printhead could be clogged, and you might need to clean the printhead several times to restore print quality. Use an automated tool from the printer control panel to clean the printhead.
CAUTION:Never turn off the printer when ink cartridges are not installed. To avoid issues that require cleaning the printhead or that can damage the ink system, always replace ink cartridges as soon as possible, and always turn off the printer using the Power button.
-
Load plain white paper into the tray.
-
On the printer control panel, swipe the display to scroll to Setup, and then touch the Setup icon
.
-
Swipe the display to scroll to Printer Maintenance, and then touch Printer Maintenance.
-
Touch Clean Printhead.
A test page prints.
-
Examine the test page.
-
If the print quality is unacceptable, touch Clean Again to continue the next level of cleaning. If necessary, repeat these steps for the third cleaning cycle.
NOTE:
If the printhead is badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform all three levels of cleaning again.
-
If the print quality is acceptable, touch Done.
-
Try to print.
Keep me posted, how it goes!
Have a great day!
Cheers:)

HP 7525 photosmart printer. Had problemwith original printhead not printing Cyan. Cleaned printhead, no change. Replaced printhead with OEM (but not sure if reman was sent). Worked fine for a few months then Cyan quit. Shows full ink cartridge and still won't print. Cleaned ink cartridges several times and cleaned print head twice. I am probably going to try buying a new printhead from HP and replace all cartridges at the same time ($$$). Is it possible this is a problem internal to the printer controls instead of printhead?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Does this happen while copying too?
If you've performed all the steps from this document: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-photosmart-7520-e-all-in-one-printer-series/5199461/model/52..., this could be an issue with the Printer hardware.
Let me know if this helps.

Sorry for the delay in getting back into this forum. I have successfully repaired the printhead. Originally I tried cleaning it with 91% isopropyl alcohol after watching a youtube video. After two tries at it I gave up and ordered a replacement head. That was advertised as new OEM and it worked for a few weeks until the Cyan quit again. Same cleaning method on that one and same results! So after reading the HP advisory on cleaning I noted the recommendation to use distilled water. Voila! After carefully syringing the water through the "ink ports" and rinsing the head with the water I then let the head soak overnight in a water bath. That simple solution did the trick. I am currently doing the same with the spare head but will keep it on ice until needed since I don't want to mess with the working head. Although I did not log back into this forum after I posted I do appreciate your response. ( believe that the original problem was caused by a low ink cartridge that allowed the ink in the cyan port to dry causing a blockage. Apparently the ink is water soluable so the soaking must have been the best solution. Fortunately it is not an internal printer control problem. Hope this helps others with dried out ink ports.
