You do not open the .prn file on the mac, you simply download and transfer to the USB stick as per the instructions.

This is an easily remedied, known issue. There is a bug with the operating code embedded in the dc controller of this series. Your device should have a usb port near the control panel and you simply need to follow the instructions in this link to download the firmware file that will resolve the issue. This only updates the DC controller firmware, not the main firmware on the machine.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply. I tried to open this but my mac said that it can't open this type of file. I assume that this is because it's for Windows not macOS? Is there some application that i need in order to download this to my macbook air?
Many thanks agin for your reply
