There is no password after a reset. Most functions are immediately available, however some functions will not work until you create an admin password.
Of note: DO NOT EVER post your email address on these forums. They are constantly trolled by printer support scam artists who will contact you, posing as HP technicians to try and extract payments from you for bogus services.

I had the personnel on site do a reset. When it came back up it had remembered the IP address and I still cannot get in with a blank password.
The default user for admin it seems is "Administrator" on this printer.
So, the process documented in the online manual , pages 126 - 136 failed us. What is the proper procedure to really reset the printer?
""6.
Click the Apply button.IMPORTANT:Make note of the password and store it in a safe place. The administrator password cannot be recovered. If the administrator password is lost or forgotten, contact HP Support for the assistance required to completely reset the printer.Click here to contact HP Support about resetting the printer password.""
And this web site does NOT recognize my printer, nor does it give me a support phone number.

Not sure what manual you were looking at, the user guide on those pages covers EWS features and setting a password but I do not see the require settings . Perhaps you are looking at a different manual.
The way to clear the admin password would be to restart the device in Pre-boot mode and then perform a partial clean. administration menu>partial clean. You could also perform a cold reset administration>startup options>cold reset.
Either of these options in the preboot menu will clear the admin password, but keep in mind also erases all stored data such as scan to folder and scan to email settings and address books, etc.
