Help! I have purchased the HP brand replacement 923 Ink cartridges and now it is the second time that this has happened. Sending back to Amazon again!
When you pull back the plastic tab (step 1), the ink just start flowing everywhere, leaking out of the plastic and it stains your hands and everything around it. Any suggestions? Maybe the non HP brand ink cartridges don't do this? HP needs to send out free ink if this is a defective cartridge. - Frustrated!!!

What do you mean by "HP brand replacement"?
Are these refilled or remanufactured?
Be sure to read reviews, especially the 1 star reviews.
I had a refilled hp toner leak ink on my carpet when I opened the box. Fortunately it could be vacuumed up as toners use powder. It was an HP toner but it was refilled by a 3rd party.
Take a picture of the problem and return the cartridge.
To check if an HP toner or ink cartridge is genuine, look for a security label on the cartridge, scan the QR code on the label with your phone, and then go to HP's website hp.com/go/ok to verify the serial number on the label; if the label appears tampered or the serial number doesn't validate, the cartridge is likely not genuine. Tips on avoiding counterfeit ink.
Non HP ink can be used on this list of HP printers, If you get a message the ink is not genuine the latest firmware will fix the problem ONLY IF your exact model is listed. Some printers manufactured before 2016 can also use non-HP ink. Those printer are also listed in that document.
